"Less is More" is our motto!

AWANA stands for "Approved Workmen are Not Ashamed" and is taken from 2 Timothy 2:15. Our goal is to reach boys and girls for Christ and to train them to serve Christ. We meet on Friday nights at 6:30pm from September to May. (click here to get more info).

We seek to glorify Christ by partnering with families to teach children the principles and faith that will lead them to an intimate and growing relationship with Him. Nursery and childcare is provided for children 0-4 yrs. old during both worship services as well as Children's Worship for grades K-3. We also have Sunday School during the Bible Study hour (9:30am-10:30am) for children in the Nursery to 5th Grade.

The Church Training Ministry exists to bring people to faith in Christ (2 Peter 3:9), help them to grow in grace and knowledge of Him (2 Peter 3:18), and lead them to develop a close love relationship with God which expresses itself through obedience to His commands (Mark 12:30; John 14:15).

The Compassion Ministry serves to share the love of Christ by visiting and praying with those who are suffering from sickness.

The Family Ministry exists to build the body of Christ at Makakilo Baptist Church through multiplication and evangelism within the context of a nurturing cell group environment. (click here for more info)

The Finance Ministry oversees the finances of the church.

flowers ministry

Our mission is to creatively beautify the facility with island plants and flowers.

The Golden Years Ministry (GYM) is a ministry of seniors 55 years and older that meets on the first Monday of the month for breakfast at various restaurants. Objectives: To fellowship, to encourage one another, and to build each other up as we should in the Lord Jesus. We are savvy seniors who love good food, good company, and we love to relax and have fun!

hospitality

The Hospitality Ministry serves to welcome new-comers and give them a sense of belonging to the family of Christ on their very first visit to our church.

kitchen ministry

We maintain and supply kitchen for all church functions and events.

With God's leading and empowering, the Men's Ministry exists to make the Gospel relevant in every arena of life. We meet every Saturday at 7:00am in the conference room at MBC. (click here for more info)

The purpose of this team is two-fold. First, we work with other churches in sharing Jesus Christ to our community. Second, we seek to promote growth among those in our church by providing mission projects in cultures other than our own. (click here for photo gallery)

We prelude the sermon with a topical comment and personal reflection facilitating the congregation's transition from enthusiastic praise & worship and heart-felt fellowship into a more reverent period of hearing The Word and The Message of God.

This ministry maintains all church properties and readies the church facility for use. We are also responsible for new building projects. Join us on the 2nd Saturday of each month at 8:30am for our monthly church workday!

We serve the body by coordinating special functions as directed by the pastor.

tellers
Terry Kim
The tellers are responsible to collect, count, and record tithes and offerings to the church in strict confidence. (Must be a member of MBC for a minimum of one year).

ushers
Brady and Laurie Burgess
The ushers greet people as they enter and depart from the church on Sundays. We also help people find their seats as well as provide them with the materiels (bulletins and Bibles) at the time of their seating.

The Makakilo Baptist Preschool is a ministry of Makakilo Baptist church. We provide weekday preschool all year round. (click here for more info)

We strive to draw women of the Body of Christ together to provide opportunities of reciprocal encouragement, strengthening, and biblical knowledge. (click here for more info)
